Thermalright Ultima 90 CPU Cooler Reviewed @ DSM
Review: DragonsteelMods
_______________ Thermalright is a well known provider of quality thermal products and it's been awhile since we've taken a look at any Thermalright CPU Coolers here at DragonSteelMods so I'm happy to be bringing you the Ultima 90 for review today. The Ultima 90 is a now familiar heatpipe style CPU cooler, but what makes the Ultima 90 special is its size, compared to most other tower heatpipe coolers out there today this thing is tiny. So with this review I can finally answer the age old question: Does size matter? |

Ive been running this combination of cooler and fan for a while now. Whilst it does an excellent job of cooling the Ultima 90i is not without fault as this review makes out although the faults can be remedied.
Firstly the crossbar that holds the cooler onto the cpu is far to slack in standard form, you'll find that giving it a bit of a curve (it's a tough bugger to bend) will give a much firmer hold and prevent it moving around. Secondly while the surface does have a shiny finish it's far from level, mine visibly rocks when laid on a solid sheet of glass. It doesnt appear to impair things too much though if you want a few extra degrees drop it may be worth getting out the sandpaper. Other than that it's fine. |
