LED technology is so powerful now than ever before that it is capable of replacing every other form of lighting out there today if it was just a few cents cheaper to mass produce each individual part....
the whole Luxeon Rebel line of LEDs is more powerful than any else as far as i know, smaller, cheaper, brighter, more efficient. they will never have to be replaced within 10 years MINIMUM, then they only decrease lighting output by approximately 30% every 50,000 hours at 60C now with the efficiency of cooling today, and the negligible amount of heat these produce, we could probably ramp these up to 30% decrease every 100,000 hours or maybe even 150,000 hours....... thats almost a whole new generation of people born in the meantime.......

just kinda wondering if LEDs are able to solve the whole health issue with florescent lights especially since they use the same principles of phosphorous coatings in both LEDS and florescents.....

The mercury content of CFL bulbs also gives some concern when broken in use or disposal - while they last a long time, they don't last forever, and a widespread conversion to low energy bulbs wiil see large numbers of failed ones ending up in landfill.

i thought they removed that a few years ago.... i dunno....
with the whole ROHS standard, i thought florescent lamps were changed too that sucks..... well LEDs dont have any mercury anyway and are so well made that even if they did, theyre sealed so well that nothing less than a full on hammer could crack them....

gaud dammit.. i want LEDs...
Why the hell someone hasn't even produced one model for market is beyond me.... i've definitely pay even 15 bucks for a LED light bulb ...considering that it should save me nearly 100 bucks in the end.... not only in power.. but within a single period of it's lifetime
