DH Review: Enermax Infiniti 720W

Read The Review Here
____________________

If a poll was conducted amongst PC enthusiasts about which PSU manufacturer they prefer, Enermax would certainly be in the top three. They are one of the oldest and most reputable PSU manufacturers, continuously releasing products that never cease to please the perpetually unsatisfied hardcore PC users. Today here at DriverHeaven’s we have one of their new high class range PSUs, the Infiniti 720W unit. The Infiniti series is not the most powerful series that Enermax currently produces, but it is loaded with pretty much all features a PSU can have.

The Infiniti is the PSU I have chosen for my new rig and this review just confirmed that it's a good choice.
Thanks

I have a question about the Coolguard function. As I understand It should keep the system fans running for a while after shutting down the PC. I have read a post on another forum that it doesn't start only the fans, but the HDDs as well. Is it normal behavior or just that user did something wrong? How did the Coolguard work during your testing, Grace (or anyone who owns this PSU)?

Looks like a pretty damned powerful PSU, could definately drive a quadfire setup if you ask me. Only question is... Who the hell runs 18 drives??

My apologies for the late reply. I'm afraid that I do not connect a HDD when testing the units, so I cannot be certain about that. However I believe that CoolGuard works by shutting down the power at the ATX/CPU/PCIe connectors but it keeps feeding the Molex connectors, so the HDDs and optical drives (as well as any other device being powered by a Molex connector) should be powered on.

If the molex connectors were powered continuously than it wouldn't be a problem, but from what that user said there is a delay between the computer shut-down and Coolguard start which causes the HDDs to spin down and immediately start again (and with low temperatures another spin down after only a few seconds).
Well, I'll have to do some more research on this. Thanks for the reply Grace.
