This will make warrantless wiretapping seem like a walk in the park. In the January 21st print edition of New Yorker magazine, Lawrence Wright's piece on Mike McConnell, Director of National Intelligence, The Spymaster, has some disturbing info about new measures the government is planning. These measures will infringe still further on our privacy - if in fact we have any after they are instituted.

There is no way this can be done, can it? :/
When you think of the infinite amounts of data that travel through our pipes every day, there's no way any of it could be effectively analysed/processed.
Plain stupid, and i don't want to say any more incase this is already being monitored ;p

just one more step to the police state, goes along with the real id implementation goin on here in the US. The federal power grab is nothing new, its just coming to head here at the end of the bush term.

PS. Funny thing, but I proposed all these in my thesis back in 1999.

its because the current republican party has lost touch with the republican platform of "anti-war, less govenment". It's what bush ran on and forgot quickly about. What are we to do when this real ID really gets into swing, One card, that holds all, SS#, bank accounts, credit acounts, and then the RF broadcaster. Watch out when they go under the epdermis. Then how is all this to function? By letting the government have its hands in every network and the data that passes through it.

The fourth estate is under control, dig deeper, take everything from the TV with a grain af salt, see the big picture. Where will we get the money to do this?
