Saitek X52 Joystick @ Motherboards.org
Review: Motherboards.org
_______________ I’ve been looking for an excuse to dust off, install and play some of my favorite flight games, but in the last move my joystick was lost. Luckily for me, my boss provided me with not only the excuse but also with the means to space out to some of my favorite game titles when he asked me to review the Saitek X52 flight-stick. |

Love my X-52. I have had it for a few years now and I have been flying IL-2 just as long and I have it programmed to basically do everything I need no matter what kind of plane I fly. I have EVERY button in all 3 modes in use including pinky shift. It is truly the best bang for the buck stick. The X-52 Pro its new version while looking a bit more stylish in black doesnt have enough "new" to justifying the upgrade. I picked up a pair of Saiteks Pro Rudder Pedals last year and it totally complements and completes it.(X-52 has a handy little lock to lock out the twist rudder)

I'm using the same setup as you INSTG8R. Only use Modes 1,2,3 tho. I use the Pinky switch for PTT in Teamspeak. I too, don't see any advantage to the Pro over the original. Now if I was heavy into the Microsoft Flight sim, then that might make a difference, ans the MFD on the Pro is programmable for some NAV/COM functions, and the MSFS guys seem to like that a lot.
That wasn't the best review that I've seen. Guy seems to be a bit clueless. Hell, he didn't even seem to know that he had the PRO as opposed to the original. Like you, I fly Il2 1946. A LOT, and my X-52 has been flawless. I like it even better than my old MS Precision Pro. Now if they would have made it Wireless, like the Logitech Freedom that I replaced with it, it would be perfect ![]() INSTG8R, I'm RAF_OldBuzzard in the "IL2 world". Look for me on HyperLobby. I am usually there on Mon, Tue, and Wed nights 9:00-12:00 Eastern time. Those nights we run a lot of co-ops at VERY relaxed settings. Mostly for FUN, as opposed to 'realism'. We have a Euro based Wing too. They fly on Friday's, 20:00 Zulu, 21:00 BST, Fridays, and mostly use 'Full Real' settings. Check us out at Combat Flight Simulator Group

I recently reviewed the X51 Pro setup and really enjoyed it. You can read my full comments here; FlightSimulationGuru.com » Blog Archive » Review of the Saitek X52 Pro – Flightstick, Throttle and Multi-Function Display
It's a great addition to any flight simulator and nice to have a reasonably priced easy to install solution to avoid using the keyboard and mouse all the time! |
