Quite doable for a car when using an electric engine. Those engines actually work the opposite way combustion engines do; the lower the rotational speed, the better the torque. As the rotational speed goes up, torque goes down. So (if the engine is sophisticated, high speed and performs somewhat linear) you only need a single long differential gear on the driving axle and you are done. But these gears and axles must be able to withstand insane torque numbers unless they limit the engine's potential by reducing the rotor's magnetic impedance or the stator's magnetic field through some kind of control unit.
I'm an electrics geek but I don't know &$%# about cars...but I actually like this one, it looks cute. I bet the price tag will be quite a number! |
