Careful here guys, a bunch of the torrents floating around labelled as RTM are actually versions of the RC2 refresh.

Though I ain't among those 15,000 chasers, I wish there is more exciting features found in Vista SP1. Here is some findings:- According to Mary Jo who inquiry Microsoft (in her article at » Some won’t have to wait until March for Vista SP1, after all | All about Microsoft | ZDNet.com), you’ll have to wait until April to get Vista SP1 preloaded on new systems from Microsoft’s PC partners. One interesting fact about what Adrian Kingsley-Hughes got in his PCMark Vantage after three rounds of tests on Vista SP1 (in his article at » Vista SP1 - The promised performance gains are there | Hardware 2.0 | ZDNet.com). |

I feel like I might as well wait until there are official installation discs available with SP1 preapplied, seeing as it's not possible to slipstream this service pack the normal way.

So I've seen since I posted that, personally I still wouldn't trust torrents for something as important as my OS.

I installed this via windows update with the reg hack and going by what I've seen online it is the RTM version. It seems very nice tho; there are noticeable improvements all around and I've had no issues with it. It was about a 138mb download on my updated x64 install.

I wouldn't torrent it, if your in a hurry the reg hack is the way to go I've used it for insistent customers with no problems.

I downloaded a small zip file from here that did it all for me A quick search on google could get you more links to it if you don't trust that site. SP1 from WU will be listed as RC2 or something but it is final. |

how would you be able to slipstream it to a current legitimate copy of vista once the final copy is officially out?

That way works, best way is to get a preintegrated iso from MS.
