It's a bad time to be an AMD fan. Not only is the highly awaited, heavily disappointing Phenom family of processors underperforming and getting pushed back, the entire Spider platform as a whole can't match much of what Intel and Nvidia have put forth in recent months. Make that years.

That doesn't stop the diehards, and we know you're out there. Apparently, Gigabyte and MSI also know you're lurking in the shadows building your Spider platform PCs, and both companies have offered up some terrific bases upon which to build: the Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6 and the MSI K9A2 Platinum.
