Frustrated with what she sees as incompetence of Best Buy "Geek Squad" staffers who admittedly lost her computer, one woman files a whopper of a suit

The saga of one crazy suit began with Best Buy customer Raelyn Campbell's purchase of a laptop computer from a local Best Buy store in the D.C. area. A Best Buy staffer talked her into buying a $300 extended warranty. The warranty includes coverage by Best Buy's service technicians -- "Geek Squad" -- for three years, and replacements of defective hardware free of charge.

I hope she doesn't. $54 mil is ridiculous and she'll never get it, no matter how incompetent Best Buy is.

can one actually have a good chance of getting several hundred times the monetary value of their loss in court?

She doesn't want the money she wants her laptop back. BB will probably give her the cash for it or give her a replacement laptop and this will go away; clever woman btw.

Probaly got a get-out clause in the terms, just like the most you'll get if a normal photo processor loses your your photos is a replacement film!

She'll at least get a new laptop, no way $54 mil. Dependant upon the value of the data on the drive she may get a little more, unless they have the easy out clause "Only responsible for the value of the hardware"

its not just the value of the laptop, shes sueing about! It's the resk to her self
and possable others to indenty theft that the door thats opened her to this was
opened by best buys neglect allowing the laptop to be lost.AS well as the decepit
and lies.
