Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted. Humanity is on the brink of advances that will see tiny robots implanted in people's brains to make them more intelligent, said Ray Kurzweil.

people forget that everything gets better at different paces.... as long as humans are driving the technology at the rate its going, it was going to happen within this lifetime..... technology's performance in the semiconductor area doubles every year or less.....

i'm sure by the time things are that good... you'll find alot of religious fanatics in denial....... though it is kinda scary what viruses could do with that kind of power...

the idea of flying cars is probably never gonna happen unless gravity is reversed over the whole planet....and that would be a mess..... any other alternative would probably require more power to drive in a day than an entire city block would take to run several weeks...... were probably going to have planes that maneuver better and are eonomical.....

The article didn't say much about that guy, but Ray Kurzweil is a pretty sharp man and shouldn't be discounted too quickly. I used to have one of his books but regret not reading it.
