iTunes Falls Short on Rental Titles
Tsk, tsk. When Apple introduced iTunes Movie Rentals in January, they indicated that "by the end of February, the store would offer over 1,000 titles, including over 100 titles in stunning high definition video with 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound." Unfortunately, a last minute check of the store at the end of February showed them short on both counts.

Fell off the tech wagon

Maybe they are finding people don't want to pay high prices for sub par video and audio.
I hope it fails along with all download service. I am not a fan and don't think I ever will be unless they can offer what blu-ray and hd-dvd can offer on disk. Uncompressed audio with full 1080p picture. And not only is downloading bad, but the price is what kills. People are buying into it and don't see how much they are getting ripped off. A unlimited rental plan on disks is a lot smarter than paying $4-$5 a rental that you can only watch once for 24 hours once you push play. |
