Nine Inch Nails Uploads New Album to BitTorrent Sites
Nine Inch Nails has released its new album, Ghosts I-IV, online and in a somewhat Radiohead-eque way. You'll recall Radiohead released its In Rainbows album with "you" naming the price. Nine Inch Nails doesn't go quite that far, but its still the sort of experimentation more bands should be trying with digital distribution becoming more popular.

I applaud them for this. Prices are more than reasonable, and they are trying something new. It's sad that it takes big bands like NIN, Radiohead, and Smashing Pumpkins to take a chance on change, but it's easier for one group to try it then it is for a trillion dollar corporation.
Hell, $5 for 36 tracks and liner notes, that is freakin amazing.

The old saying goes.. work smarter not harder and NIN is making an impressionable move on there part playing it smart and thinking about its fan base rather than there wallets, now we only need to get the other hundreds of bands to follow this motto.

I wasn't looking for their music but now I'll download the free package and listen to it. Neat marketing.

I am glad the Radiohead album was free. I thought every song on the album sucked. No matter. I didn't lose any money to check it out. I will be checking out the new NiN for free as well.

To anyone who downloaded the FLAC version, could you please upload tracks 1-7 and 19 to some server and send me a link via PM? My downloaded zip was corrupted and I can't download the whole 600MB package again. I can get the extras from the free version but I'd like to have the rest of the FLACs as well.
Thanks. Edit: I managed to get the tracks elsewhere
