If nothing else, it appears that the contentious divorce between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills has led to one good result - well, not for either of them, but for music fans. McCartney has authorized the release of the Beatles' back catalog on iTunes in a deal that is valued at $400 million.

I thought that Michael Jackson had the Beatles' catalog rights?

I think he sold them or at least parts of the rights due to financial problems last year.
