'Windows 7' product deadline may or may not be 2010

Reports yesterday and today stating Microsoft confirmed its Windows 7 release date for 2010 appear to be very premature, as the statement those reports were based on is the same boilerplate language the company has produced for months.

An oft-repeated statement from Microsoft's spokespersons on the release timeframe for the next version of the Windows client, currently code-named "Windows 7," continues to make the case that the product remains slated for a development phase extending some three years after Windows Vista's general availability (GA) release, which was in January 2007.

they dont even have all the performance issues with vista fixed yet, WTF?

Microsoft better take a lot of time and make this OS good!

I don't care when it comes out but I have to think 2010 is a bit early?

Unless they are using the basic Vista design and just fixing everything that is wrong with it lol.

I'm not seeing any performance issues on my end.

You guys all have to remember that XP was an anomally, before that, MS was pushing out new operating systems ever 2-3 years. I think they may have trouble returning to that schedule, but we also won't see delays like Vista again, since MS isn't going to repeat the mistakes they made early in the development of Vista.
