Retail Vista SP1 and final XP SP3 expected this week

Microsoft is poised to release Windows Vista Service Pack (SP1) to the retail channel this week. And the final release-to-manufacturing (RTM) of Windows XP SP3 is not far behind, according to testing sources.

Amazon.com has published to its site Vista SP1 availability dates of Wednesday March 19. (Thanks to Computerworld for spotting Amazon’s SP1 availability notice.)

LoL...endless rebooting.

So going to wait about a month or so after they release any service pack so I can be aware of any issues that arise.

I never experienced the endless rebooting effect and I have been running the final SP1 for Vista x64 through Microsoft update since it's release......

My Windows is borked. Something's really screwed and I cant fix it withouy reinstalling Win. But I don't want to do it before decent SP1 embedded Vistas arrive.

you should be ok, its been on Technet, MSDN and Windows update for longer than a month. I'm sure if there were any major problems people would have been shouting about it by now.

Does any one have the Vista SP1 on windows update yet..

I m curious if it's out yet..Fileforum is currently hosting the SP now,but im not sure if this is the actual release.

heh, I don't see it in windows update on my PC. But I'm downloading the x64 pack from MS site

Possibly different roll out times for different country's perhaps.
