Electronic Arts votes for Sony, tells Microsoft to push off
BIG GAMES firm Electronic Arts will put one of its top games online on Tuesday but only for the Playstation 2 and not for the Xbox.
That, according to a report in today's Wall Street Journal is a deliberate snub to Microsoft, which has tried to persuade EA to push its games for Xbox Live. And, the same report quotes an unnamed EA executive as saying Microsoft wanted too much control over its products, while Sony, with its Playstation 2, er, didn't. The move to put its EA Sports games online will coincide with the start of E3, a games conference, and is calculated to really hack Microsoft off. The Journal reports that EA's chairman Larry Probst told Microsoft in mid April that it was going to "build something big" but it wouldn't be with Microsoft. The news will be a blow to Microsoft, which has been struggling to sell Xboxes while Sony has firmly held onto the console pole position. -------------------------- Source: TheInquirer |

IMHO- EA games all are terrible anyway-
Have you ever tried to contact EA for tech support? Good luck if you want to. The few games by EA that are halfway decent are usually pretty buggy and under developed, and should be much better than they are. BF1942 is a good example. Maybe we will get lucky and they will stop producing games for windows too! |

The Medal of Honor series and The Sims are good and highly successful.

Yup, MOHAA is one good game-
I dunno, I just don't like EA's "generic" video game money making machine- I just had bad experiences w/ their tech support in the past and have been very dissapointed by many hames with their name on it- not to say their caren't some good games, but I always think that those few good games would have been better if EA weren't involved- I think I may have a grudge against them.

I've always seen X-box as a stab in the back to PC owners anyway.
EA support? Yeah, form letter replies that help no one that knows anything about PC's. They just tell you, "Update video drivers", "update DirectX", stupid stuff like that. They only tell ya to do things that you already did BEFORE you tried to contact them for help. ![]() I think EA is getting too big for their britches anymore and are just pumping out games to make money, they really don't care what the consumer thinks. Case in point: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for PC/X-Box/Gamecube. What a coaster that game was. The only way to get a decent version was for the PS2. And PS2 is the WEAKEST system currently availabe. I used to always associate EA with quality games, ever since the C64 days. Now, they just don't care about anything but money. So much for brand integrity. |

Well, the only EA sports games I really play are Madden for the Game Cube and Tiger Woods for the PC. Although Madden is fun, I think that NFL2k for the XBox is a MUCH better football game overall, although there are some things in Madden, like "hidden play picks" that I like more.
Tiger Woods, on the other hand, is an excellent game. I can't really say anything bad about it at all. I've played it on PS2 and the PC, and both of them rocked. JMHO.

yeah, the new TWPGA2003 is excellent, and it is also a graphics whore! With everything turned on it looks incredible, I can tell you that, and the career mode makes it alot of fun to play.

Hey, it's their loss.
Their lazzy asses just don't want to put on the extra work to customize a game for a specific system. That's why all the PC EA Sports games suck balls. They make one solid game and port it onto all systems. They would have to redesign games for Xbox Live, and they are just too damn stupid not to do that. The only good EA games that are any good on the PC were developed only for the PC. An example of this would be MOHAA. I think this is a really bone head selfish move by EA. I think Madden, and NHL by EA Sports would be great on Xbox Live. They don't think this way, that is why they are stupid. To quote Dennis Miller, "That is just my opinion, I could be wrong."
