WesternDigital WD2500JB 250Gig reviewed
The special edition drives from Western Digital have always been the favorite among enthusiasts as they are the very first drives shipped out for desktop PCs that incorporates a whopping 8MB of buffer memory. In addition to that, Western Digital's hard drive performance is never too shabby either, and that's one of the main reasons why users are willing to invest in one. Most importantly, it's Western Digital's continuing dedication to provide a full three-year warranty period for their JB (special edition) range of drives that got users faithfully recommending and upgrading their drives.
The new WD2500JB is their latest and biggest drive for the performance desktop PC. Spinning at 7200RPM, Western Digital has managed to squeeze as much as 80GB of data into a single platter. The WD2500JB uses three of these disk platters to make up the full 250GB of its capacity and it represents the industry's biggest hard drive based on the 7200RPM spindle speed.
