TwinMOS Dual Channel PC3200
Having looked at a few dual channel memory kits, I'm a firm believer that if you're looking for the best performance, and stability in your dual channel motherboard, one of these matched pairs is a must. Up until TwinMOS contacted us, the dual channel kits we've reviewed were from manufacturers who target enthusiasts. Granted, the nForce 2, and Canterwood are enthusiast boards, but I was surprised "OEM" memory manufacturers didn't jump on this bandwagon, especially since the Granite Bay, which also supports dual channel, was a workstation board.
TwinMOS is very well known in Asia, and have a reputation of making quality, and well-priced ram. They've been manufacturing PC3200 modules for quite some time, which have been getting good reviews online, but today we'll be looking at their Dual Channel PC3200 kit. There isn't any information on their site about it, but I was told by our TwinMOS contact that the specifications are identical to their PC3200 modules. It sounds to me like they just took two sticks and through them in the board and called them "Dual Channel" compat. What I am wondering is if you took 2 sticks of XMS.....bought as singles.......and threw them into a dual board......if you would have similiar results....if not better. Has anyone done a review or just bought 2 single sticks and threw into there dual board and done the bench marks?? Anyone know if there would be enough of a performance increase between the Twin-X and just 2 single sticks of the same XMS memory to justify the increase in price?
As a person without a large amount of money to spend and only running a single stick of Apacer 512 memory.....I am curious to find out......because I would like to run the dual channel.......I just can't afford to pay for the Twin-X modules. |

Roadee, if cost is of any concern, just run 1 piece. Dual Channel isn't all it's cracked up to be (on AMD systems.)

I'm not to sure about the PC3200 kit by twinmos, but I own two sticks I picked up and love them on my nforce 2 mobo. I'm using 2*512 PC3200 twinmos with winbond chips and would highly recommene it.
