Gaming Headsets have advanced dramatically in recent years. Being able to hear enemies coming from behind or wandering round a corner is a great advantage in-game and could be the factor which allows you to win a game, or lose. Super duper snipa whoopy doopy surround headset means dick if you don't use proper soundcard. And any high end soundcard will render deadly precise 3D sound positioning on regular stereo headphones or even speakers. I can say that for sure when using CMSS-3D Virtual on my X-Fi with Altec Lansing MX5021 or with headphones which i don't use anymore ever since i bought MX5021 hehe. Tracing the sound source is really fun when other side doesn't know you have that kind of advantage. Mmmmmonster kill kill kill...
