Sonic Focus: Digital music is just "good enough"

When one puts an iPod into a home theater system it's easy to hear the degradation in a digital audio file due to file compression when compared to a compact disc (CD) when the system is powered by a decent amplifier and a 7.1 speaker set. In some cases, a decent speaker might even highlight the noises that are caused by file compression.
