Creative's X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty--PCI Express Audio Done Right
The Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty "professional" series sound card is not Creative's first PC Express audio part. Of course, the half-hearted effort that was the Xtreme Audio has mostly been overlooked. Now Creative can hold its proud head high, thanks to the new PCI Express-based Titanium; it's everything we've come to expect from a Sound Blaster product, with very little to complain about.

The review is pants. Doesn't cover the drivers and software in enough depth, which is well known to be Creative's major downfall (I'd imagine it's the same bloated and buggy rubbish that they have tried to pass off to all Audigy/XFI owners thus far, though).
They also seem a bit too eager to recommend the card, despite the Xonar being less than half the price. They didn't even dwell on the fact that many existing customers with older cards have been right royally shafted in terms of Vista support for the hardware they purchased, and that any new customers purchasing these new cards could [read: will] be treated in the same way (i.e. with utter contempt). |
