Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 Motherboard
When the X38 chipset was released from Intel a lot of people tried to bad mouth the chipset due to its’ much higher pricing than little brother, the P35 chipset. It seems that many of us will cry foul when manufacturers release a more expensive product that seems to only have a few advantages over the last great release. Things like it overclocking just slightly more than the P35 seemed to get up people’s noses, or how it only outperforms the P35 in some tests. In a few reviews that was the case and those people who talked about it had some factual backing to their opinions. But some failed to realize what else the X38 chipset had to offer, like PCIe 2.0 and 16x PCI express Crossfire support over two full bandwidth links. There are a few more advantages that lie in the X38 chipset which is covered by that massive heatsink.
