Apple Introduces the 3G iPhone, "MobileMe"

Apple's WWDC isn't usually the turf of Steve Jobs. It is, after all, the WorldWide Developer's Conference, not a consumer event. This year, however, things are different, with speculation over a new 3G iPhone. And, of course, the Apple Store went down Monday morning, meaning something was "up."

Now people can stop complaining of all the shortcomings of the 1st gen iPhone. With the SDK and 3G, nothing beats the iPhone in terms of functionally.

Interestingly, AT&T says the revenue sharing model is now gone! Also, you can't buy this phone online ... you have to go into a store and activate it there. Finally, it looks like they might have separated the voice / data plans, but combined it's $10 more than before. So if you get both, you're gonna pay more than the $200 savings in the iPhone 3G upfront.

My complaint over the iPhone is actually the licensing on the SDK. My company was evaluating the possibility of making some software for the iPhone until we did some research and found out that if we wanted to sell the software to our customers Apple would be wanting a 30% cut of our sales.

I was mostly referring to enterprise phones. Looking at the HTC TyTN II It doesn't look like it has anything over the iPhone 3G and firmware 2.0.

Um, show me that article. Plus they have neither confirmed or denied it but there is more evidence to show it exists.
