Is Hydrogen Just Hype?
I woke one day this week to find the future had arrived. Honda had made the hydrogen car a reality through its FCX Clarity. I yawned and went back to bed. Nothing had really changed. Hydrogen cars were still an appealing fantasy, a mirage that recedes just when it seems within reach.

Hard to believe...
Following some more site links: The Power from water one sounds good, until you find the cartridge delivers 270WH and then has to be replaced, at a cost of $20, making it seem more like a water-activated battery. HHO gas for welding, is another one, "Brown's gas" or HHO is the subject of much controversy, though the FACT is that an oxyhydrogen flame does burn hot and clean, the mysterious and miraculous properties of HHO prepared a certain way are of a similar order to "cold fusion", much hyped but unproven under rigourously controlled conditions. Another nice wander through "free energy" my own line of thought is wondering if you could couple a stirling engine to a heat pump, in the same way as the apparent "free energy device" using an electrostatic motor powered by and driving an electrostatic generator. Basic problem with water as fuel, is that splitting it into HHO should use as much energy as combustion generates, assuming 100% efficiency - anyone who can find a proven way around that should be up for a Nobel prize, not hawking stuff on the Internet. There IS a way to use water, demonstradted way back by a motoring magazine... Water injection, where a small amount of water added to the fuel/air mix lowers intake & combustion temperatures, while increasing the gas pressure on the power stroke by steam expansion.
