PC Power & Cooling Silencer 500w Power Supply
Very often, I see people going out and buying 800W, 900W, even 1.2KW power supplies for their beefy new rigs. Some people think that they really need this much power, and some people realize that even the highest end overclocked beast theoretically draws less than 600W (and usually less than 500W). The problem is that most higher capacity power supplies (and even a lot of lower capacity ones too) run on two, four, six, or more 12V rails, each sitting around 18-20A, which makes it easier to overload any single one.
