The number of analogies between AMD’s graphics division (using the ATI brand) and Rocky are almost endless. Each of them seems to posses some of the most insurmountable amounts of resilience I’ve ever seen. For the past few years, NVIDIA has simply dominated the PC graphics arena – sure AMD has kicked out good parts like its 3000-series, however, its 29xx series really missed the mark in a large way – it stumbled into the taboo land of high heat and sub-par performance.
