Just a month after Intel launched their highest-end Canterwood (875P) chipset, they are now addressing the mid- to low-end market segment with a whole range of chipset based on the 865 series. Although you'll know by now that Springdale supports dual-channel DDR400 and AGP 8x, it's not meant to replace or displace the 875P as it lacks a certain aspect which is unique only to the 875P - which is PAT (Performance Acceleration Technology). Instead, it will be priced attractively to attract the masses with its already state-of-the-art technology such dual-channel DDR400 memory, AGP 8x and 800MHz FSB support.
