The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) recently approved IEEE 1394-2008, a faster version of the standard known to most simply as FireWire and used for connecting PCs with digital video devices or external hard drives.

just like USB 2.0 was "faster" than firewire 400 in theory....

if i recall correctly..

i don't recall ever seeing that USB2.0 beating out firewire 2.0

it was always mentioned that while usb2.0 was 480mbps that it was only faster then firewire 1.0 @ 400mbps.

firewire 2.0 blew usb 2.0 out of the water..


And so far, i would have to agree that with the Firewire 1.0 vs usb 2.0 ... the 2.0 usb model seems to sustain transfer speeds just as effectively....
