Microsoft to Try "Going Hip" with Seinfeld Ads

Let's be honest: even if you use a PC you have to admit the Apple "Get a Mac" ads are hip, funny, and interesting. Despite my PVR I will stop a commercial skip and watch a new "Get a Mac" ad.

heres a good ad..

produced way back in the 97/98 .....maybe earlier.. can't remember... but i remember watching them on tv...

one of the very first Computer related add i ever seen..

It's stories like these that make me want to swear off words like "cool" and "hip" forever...

(hip? When did that word come back from the dead?)

I'm ever so grateful and glad that I never in my life bought a computer to be "cool" and "hip." I've just never been that shallow, I guess, which is probably why I've managed to learn a fair bit about them over the years. Good things happen when you judge a book by something more substantial than its cover.

For me, owning a computer that is "cool" and "hip" is owning a computer that runs an OS that is the most compatible with third-party software and hardware, because that allows me the most freedom of choice in the things I buy for that computer, to put in it and to run on it, and that in turn provides me with the highest degree of satisfaction. I'd agree that today's Mac, however, is a lot more cool and hip than at any time in its past, and I'd say that's because today's Mac runs Windows ROOB...

MAC is a PC.... PC is a MAC.. they are on in the same thing... the only difference, the MAC OS and the Windows OS..... today, the "mac" PC is capable of running both..... as far as any generic machine running MAC OS however, is up in the air due to MAC's lack of driver support.

If they had somehow used old clips from Seinfeld to make their ads I would be interested (though, didn't Jerry have a Mac in the background?), however, Jerry Seinfeld of Bee Movie is a total bore.

Yes, Seinfeld did have a Mac in several of his episodes, and he was also in the "Think Different" Apple ad (briefly).
