Futuremark Caught NVIDIA On Misleading Statement

You may remember that NVIDIA did not comment on its cheats in drivers that allowed graphics cards based on certain GPUs from NVIDIA to score more in Futuremark’s 3DMark03, but accused the Finnish company in developing unfair benchmarks. The company also said that Futuremark asks for hundreds of thousands US Dollars to participate in its Beta Program. Well, Futuremark denied both allegations on Monday.

First of all, a Futuremark representative said that the company utilises the most-efficient shaders and rendering-patterns. Secondly, Aki Jarvilehto, Vice President Benchmark Products of Futuremark Corporation said over here that the minimum payment to join the Beta Program as a Beta Member is $5000 a year, not hundreds of thousands as NVIDIA Corporation claimed last week.

To tell you the truth, this is a very strange scandal fully shrouded in secrecy. Does someone have a background of this scandal between NVIDIA and Futuremark? You are welcome to e-mail me or leave a comment.

means96 can only hope to improve

???

I dont understand why pick on NVIDIA when others such as ATI also have admitted to cheating on Futuremarks bechmarks - it seams they all cheat and lie - it also seams that in order to compete they have to cheat since there competitors do - I think the focus should be for Futuremark to make it's bechmark cheat proof!

I have lost faith in FutureMark after the recent events. Any TRUE gamer will agree that synthetic benchmarks like those from FutureMark are nice, but not entirely accurate. Why do you see sites that review cards with other benchmarks from QuakeIII, RTCW, UT2k3 (just to name a few)? Because those are the games we play, and FPS (and quality) in those games are all that matter.

ROFLMFAO~~~~~

Sorry, but where the heck have you guys been? nVidia was flat-out busted cheating at 3dm2k3, now they're trying any sort of FUD to divert attention from the issue. The relative values of 3dm2k3 are moot in this argument, this is about nVidia trying to perpetrate fraud to sell more video cards.

ARB2 = path that all cards use (or should use) the standard that is

Which way was the demo run, in order to give us those benchies that had Nv ontop of teh world?!?
