I tried to download it from the fileforum link but it's not available anymore, I think they took it down.
This webpage is not found. No webpage was found for the web address: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or...up%203.0.2.exe Edit: OK, now the link is working, weird? |

Typical of FileForum, they pushed it out early. In fact, it's still not listed on Mozilla's site.

All I know is that this better fix the issues I'm having with 3.0.1 or else I'm going back to version 2.

For one, crashes. Twice now I've had Firefox do a hard recover (last one just last night). Quote a number of times I've had to "end task" Firefox to get it to stop as it just stops responding. And the memory usage issue? Still there. Actually, I think all the problems I'm having with it is due to memory issues. Over time I notice that Firefox keeps using more and more resources, sometimes as much as 400mb of RAM. Once it gets to a certain point size wise it starts to slow down, and I then notice that CPU usage starts to go up. After that it's all down hill, and after a while it just slows to a crawl, or stops working. Clearing the cache out helps sometimes (got a tool to allow easy clearing), but most times I have to close Firefox out just to get the system to start running smoothly again. It also doesn't matter if I have addons or not, the same issues happen.
Anyways, once I get home I'll try it out. |

The only problem I have with v3 is when I open bookmarks in a new tab I have to view that new tab before I can open another bookmark in a tab. It's more of a inconvenience than anything.

That was driving me nuts at one time. Then I got used to holding CTRL down while clicking a bookmark which opens that link in a new tab. Thankfully they've fixed this with 3.0.2.

Well I am using it now and it works!
I never had problems with it before on Vista. In fact at least on my system it is rock stable as hell. NEVER crashes and have not noticed memory issues.. I hope they get it fixed for you! |

Tipstaff have you tried running it vanilla? Usually people with problems have tons of plugins installed.

![]() Usually I have 10 plugins, however 5 are related to AdBlock Plus (filters and element hiders). I did try 3.0.1 without the addons, and still the same thing happened. Eventually memory usage creeps up to a point that it crashes. So far 3.0.2 is running better. Definitely less memory usage, but I do have to take back the thing I said about opening bookmark links via right-click in my last post: still can't. I figure when I tried it before it must have been a fluke. |

Mea culpa!
I usually have 10-15 tabs open and never had any problems and have been a Firefox user for a long time.
