Antec Skeleton Open-Air PC Case Review
We see lots of PC enclosures aimed at a particular niche: thin and quiet home theater PC cases made to fit into A/V racks, little cube PCs with handles to take to the LAN party, towering wind tunnels with lots of room for extreme overclockers with their high-end gear—you name it. Seldom have we seen a case so obviously and aggressively designed explicitly for a very narrow market segment as with the new Skeleton from Antec.

Re: Antec Skeleton Open-Air PC Case Review
I actually like the case... err.. frame. Things would get pretty dusty, but if you are someone that changes out their hardware a lot, like testers, this would make it a whole lot easier to do that. Even if you aren't this is still a pretty nice frame.

Re: Antec Skeleton Open-Air PC Case Review
It so needs a skirt.
![]() The center cage by itself could do as a nice testing rig. The plastic frame with fan is just in the way really. And the cage is aparently a bit cramped on the inside, which indicates that this is not really designed as a practical testing rig after all. (better to have everything on one plane for such things) The overall verdict hints towards a wierd jumble of ideas. There is the Skeleton Mini though that could easily be made pretty silent in spite of the openness. |
