EBay to ban sales of ivory goods

EBay has announced a worldwide ban on the sale of ivory products on its auction websites from next year. An eBay spokesman said the move was the best way to help African and Asian elephants. The endangered animals are often hunted for their ivory tusks.

this should have been done immediately. it shouldn't have waited until next year. perhaps this will cause an increase of elephant poaching for their tusks to be sold off on eBay until the year is over.

Yah, I don't understand why they couldn't say it started now. Obviously they probably have some planning to do, but why not get the thing going ...
