VIA Nvidia netbook platform plans suspended
Nvidia and VIA Technologies' cooperation over a platform for netbooks and Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) was recently suspended, according to sources at VIA.
Nvidia and VIA signed a cooperation agreement in April this year which would see VIA's C7 and Nano CPUs paired with MCP79 IGP chipsets from Nvidia, according to previous reports. Although cooperation on the platform is suspended, VIA said the two are still continuing to cooperate and will showcase co-developed desktop PC products at CES 2009. ____________ Source: Digitimes |

Re: VIA Nvidia netbook platform plans suspended
That's a real pity. I was hoping for a decent netbook platform. At least hopefully this means that NVIDIA will have an Atom chipset, because while the Atom is not that great a CPU, Intel integrated graphics are much much worse. (I can certain see future Atom versions being quite good, but though Intel is working on Larrabee, I'll have to see good graphics from it to believe it.)
