Vista Codec x64 Components 1.5.3 Final

Do you want to watch your favorite video in MediaCenter?
These components are tested on Vista Ultimate x64. This release is fully compatible with the 32bit codecs installed by the Vista Codec Package. It is fully uninstallable through the Windows interface.

Windows Vista x64 is required. This release will not install on a x86 systems.

1.5.3 x64 changelog
- add support for E-AC3 and Dolby TrueHD audio
- add support for AMR audio (full 3GP playback)
- add H264 DXVA support /shortcuts
- update ffdshow rev 2302
- update Gabest filters rev 866
- update installer icon/graphics/logo
- minor revisions (undocument)

So is this better for vista x64 than manually installing ffdshow and haali media splitter?

EDIT: Using mpc homecinema for x264, good way to get hw acceleration.

Do you use x64 ffdshow? I tried the latest builds by clsid and I noticed poor performance with some HD (H264 and WMV9) videos, and one for me quite important thing is missing - x264 encoder. I installed the 32bit version back for now...
