Re: Adobe answers cries for 64-bit Flash on Linux
Funny thing - and I just noticed this past weekend - the default browser for Vista64 is a 32bit version of IE7. Flash installs and runs just perfectly, of course...
If you look for and execute the 64bit version of IE7 (also included...), it runs fine, but will nag you occasionally with the information bar and a popup wanting to install Flash for every website page that uses it - including here at DH of course. It won't install into the 64bit version of the browser - just does nothing - then nags again when the next page calls to use it. C'mon Adobe!

well with windows xp x64, the 64bit client of IE was at your finger tips....
I always found the x64 version to appear to load pages a little faster.... or something.... but the only thing holding it back from being the most commonly used browser vs the 32bit was the simple fact of flash.....

...this gives Silverlight a chance to gain momentum too.
Yeah, I've noticed the 64bit browser feels a bit snappier - but if stuff doesn't work... I love the stuff that Flash enables, and it's very popular for use in content delivery here at work. It works for both content producers and users - for many reasons...

Re: Adobe answers cries for 64-bit Flash on Linux
precisely why 64bit browsers aren't being used...... if flash was 64bit...... no one would be using the 32bit client.

I agree Judas - lack of Flash capability alone is one reason among many, but for me and others, it's a big one.
