First International Computer does not fall behind its rivals and also “participates” in the so-called Virtual Computex 2003 by announcing new products. Today FIC unveiled two new Socket A mainboards to support the latest AMD Athlon XP 3200+ processor with 400MHz EV-6 FSB.

Coming soon to stores near you, FIC AU13 and KT-748 based on NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 and SiS748 respectively will be quite nice solutions for mainstream and high-end markets.

The KT-748 mainboard is a standard ATX form factor and supports all Socket A CPUs, including the latest AMD Athlon XP 3200+ processors with 400MHz FSB. Based on the new SiS 748 chipset, on-board features include 6-channel audio, 100/100Mb/s LAN, USB 2.0, optional FireWire (IEEE1394) interfaces and Parallel ATA-33/66/100/133. There are also 5 PCI slots and 1 AGP 8x slot. Pricing was not touched upon by the manufacturer; keeping in mind that the chipset is not an expensive one, expect FIC KT-748 to be an inexpensive product.

The AU13 mainboard is based on the eagerly awaited NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset with dual-channel DDR SDRAM and 400MHz FSB support. The AU13 is also a standard ATX form factor and on-board features include 6-channel audio, 10/100Mb/s LAN, optional Serial ATA-150 with RAID feature, optional FireWire (IEEE1394) and USB 2.0 support. The AU13 is equipped with 6 PCI slots and 1 AGP 8x slot. As all mainboards powered by NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400, this one is intended for high-end and high-end mainstream markets with appropriate pricing.
