Z2K: 30GB Zunes Across the World are Frozen

30GB Zunes across the world seem to be failing, frozen on startup, in what some have snarkily called Z2K or Z2K9. The device can't be reset, and the best efforts at troubleshooting seem to point to an issue with the latest firmware.

These are the older Zunes, BTW, not the current gen.

MS really screwed the pooch with the Zune.

I kind of agree.

How hard is it to make these players just work lol?

But after my bad experience always having to use Itunes I am more than willing to switch and use the nice Zune software!

hey I put up with Itunes all the time, but I don't buy music on Itunes and it makes it kind of hard to keep up with my music.

I am sure it works fine for the average person.

Not a fan of the low quality of the MP3.

So I rip my music uncompressed from cd's!

Ill get you into macintosh someday. you should see the 17 inch model im playing with at the minute, 4gb of ram, 2.5ghz cpu, LED lCD at 1920x1200. dual DVI out to 2560x1600, 3 usb ports, firewire 400/800, 320gb HD, battery life of 4 hours. dual layer dvd burner, 512MB Nv gfx, aluminium chassis, ambient lit backlit keyboard....

Most awesome laptop ive used, ever !
