Publisher's Description:

7-Zip is a file archiver with the high compression ratio. The program supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, LZH, CHM, GZIP, BZIP2, Z, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB formats. Compression ratio in the new 7z format is 30-50% better than ratio in ZIP format.

7-Zip has the following other editions available: 7-Zip (64-bit).

Latest Changes:

7-Zip now can unpack ZIP archives encrypted with PKWARE-AES
Some bugs were fixed

The x64 version asked me to kill explorer.exe during installation, strange...

If you had 7-Zip installed before then explorer.exe might already be using the .dll file that was to be replaced. A more advanced installation routine might perhaps have worked around that though. On the other hand some programs would simply have the user reboot the system instead.
