Supreme Court Kills COPA Child-Porn Law

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear an appeal of the Child Online Protection Act (COPA), ending a more than 10-year battle over the statute.

while i agree 100% with fredom on the internet, it is near impossible for parnets to filter out wha tis available to children without losing most of the function of the internet. parents need help with this & the only way to do that is to chop of the source at the knees. or not allow computer use for shildren unless you are hovering aroundthem wich isnt viable or fair to parent or child. of course most of the negative/bad(child porn sites aside) stuff posted about kids is posted by kids, dont know how they would deal with that.
flip side is you have to be very careful about the type of controls you let in as they can be doorways for harsher/broader rstrictions.
