Million Man Lan, personal invite for all DH members!

Guys ive a special announcement to make.

ATI and Tomshardware are sponsoring a Lan Party called "Million Man Lan". I also have a special treat for all you Dhers out there. If you get over to the party and go and chat with Terry Makedon or David from Tomshardware and let them know you are a Driverheaven member they will give you all a prize

Tom's Hardware Guide is pround to announce its partnership with Lanwar on the Million Man Lan 2, taking place June 26-29, 2003 in Louisville, Kentucky. Nearly 800 people have pre-registered for this event already, and we are looking to get as many more of you there as we can. It promises to be a great event with participation from major hardware companies, and our very own THG editors.

Well I am only 2 hours away from it. I would love to go but ATM work is forcing us a couple days over and I will have to see when it gets closer if I will be able to go. If I am off I will get there. I will have to see what is happening then.

Gee make it even harder will ya CM! I checked my schedule and I do have to work those days but would you be there Sat thru the early morning? As I work nights and my best shot would be to come down during the morning. I hate to miss the chance to meet you and everyone else. Hmm wonder if he would get his picture made with me and my face painted blue with th DH symbol on it.

I'm like an hour and a half away from Louisville, but I have mixed feelings about Million Man (I was aware of it long before this news post). I'd kinda like to go, but I'm also flat broke and looking for a job, so I don't know if it will work out.

Well I am flying out of there Saturday at noon. I will be there all day Thursday, all day Friday and Sat morning. If you did paint your face blue with DH logo you better believe you can get pictures taken with all the ATI guys that will be there. And I bet Zardon would put it front page of DH too! lol

10 hour drive, thats not really too bad, take the kids and the wife, make a nice little trip out of it all ! would be very cool. im just annoyed I live in Ireland....... too far away for me

AAARRRGGGG!!!!! Living in Ohio, I'm not too far away from Kentucky, but my car is a piece of junk and would probably blow up driving on the freeway for that long. Besides, I can't seem to get a job to save my life so I'm broke as can be.

I have, still am, and will always be a diehard nVidia fan....but for a 9800 I'd be willing to convert!

1) they aren't updated
1a) even if I posted my new scores, people would accuse me of 'cheating'
2) I've lost faith in FutureMark - thus I won't compare systems based on thier 3dMark benchmark

Zardon, if I knew this would be such a big hit, I would have emailed you about this when they first announced the MML2 dates. LANWAR runs smaller LANparties like this every few months and MML is thier idea to, once a year, host a huge LAN, and ultimately compete with those in Europe. If you'd like any contact info, or care to read up on thier message boards - head over to www.LANWAR.com or www.MILLIONMANLAN.com (they are the same backend data, different site layouts)

I'll be sitting in Section 4, Row 8, Seat 13 (nearest to the CORE)

Anyone from DH come up and introduce yourself - I'm sure we'll have a good time. I'll run a #driverheaven channel on thier IRC network soon as I arrive opening day. We'll make DH's presance known - and get the word out about you guys - thier message boards get posts from me about News/etc I find here.

They just upgraded thier networks so everyone runs 100mbit - they just confirmed CISCO will be sponsoring the network at MML2 - its gonna be one awesome network! (with 0 pings on 64 player BF1942 servers)

Oddly enough people from all over the world came to MML1 and since then, more and more people outside the US attend the smaller (but getting larger) LANWAR events.
