Firefox 3.1 delivery slips; developers question TraceMonkey progress

Some Mozilla Corp. developers have recommended that the company consider yanking the new JavaScript engine, dubbed TraceMonkey, from Firefox 3.1 to get the browser back on track and out the door.

I really can't wait for this. I was reading good things about it!

I do hope it's really fast

I rather them take their time and do it right as opposed to releasing a buggy and unstable product. FF 3.0.6 is working just fine right now anyway. We can wait a little while longer.

Re: Firefox 3.1 delivery slips; developers question TraceMonkey progress

Agree! Tracemonkey kicks ass! I've been running 3.1 beta 2 for a long time now and it's really fast and smooth. Removing tracemonkey from 3.1 is a waste of time and a 3.1 update without tracemonkey is IMO not worth it.

Re: Firefox 3.1 delivery slips; developers question TraceMonkey progress

It's true. Tracemonkey really makes FF3.1 a burner. If they want to compete with Chrome and IE8, they don't have much choice.

Re: Firefox 3.1 delivery slips; developers question TraceMonkey progress

Ok I just installed the beta and so far it's good to go and fast!!!

EDIT: OMG they got rid of the "open new tab" button... I can no longer see it in the options to load on my bar. So sad it makes me already want to go back to the old version lol... They moved it to the far right, but I want it next to my home button NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Re: Firefox 3.1 delivery slips; developers question TraceMonkey progress

I believe there is a addon which fixed this, search for open new tab in addons search.
