Cebit sees big drop in visitor numbers

Europe's largest IT fair saw an almost 20% drop in visitors this year, but those that did turn out for the six-day event in Hanover were on average a higher quality of attendee than in the past, organizers said late Sunday.

It is but think about it from their point of view, it is the organisers business to make sure that companies pay big money for their 'pitches' at these things (they are basically glorified car boot sales!) so while they have to publically admit that numbers are down because that figure can be checked by anyone they have to mitigate that by saying the quality of the attendee is up.

Basically what they're saying is please still attend CeBit 2010 and pay £100,000 dollars for the privilege Mr Big Corporation, we know we have fewer numbers than last year but the people that do attend are serious buyers and have lots of cash to spend...not just a bunch of time wasters.

certainly thats an angle, but I doubt any marketing people in any of the major companies will fall for a silly statement like that. it is meaningless. I can't see them giving IQ tests at the door or taking pictures of everyone as they walk in and judging their worth on their attire or the like.

Things shouldn't be said in such offending way , this is a shortcut to lose low budget clients and lacks any respect which is the base for any successful company.
