Adobe Reader 9.1
Adobe Reader software is the global standard for electronic document sharing. It is the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all PDF documents. Use Adobe Reader to view, search, digitally sign, verify, print, and collaborate on Adobe PDF files.

Re: Adobe Reader 9.1
v9.1 fixes a major security flaw, so anyone running it should upgrade.

Re: Adobe Reader 9.1
It was possible to run malicious code, when a PDF was opened. This could be disabled by turning off Javascript though, but still recommended to update.

Re: Adobe Reader 9.1
Actually Javascript (not Java) wasn't to blame for this exploit, as the exploit was in the way Adobe Reader handles pdf documents, but the exploit uses javascript til work properly.

Re: Adobe Reader 9.1
I like PDFs now that I have an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax that can scan any document and save it as a PDF (or other formats), where the "picture of the text" is automatically turned into "search-able" text-- able to copy, past, email, etc.. That is pretty handy.
