Conspiracy Theories Abound Over PIFTS.EXE in Norton Security Products
Symantec's support forums are being inundated with, and then freed up from posts from users wondering about PIFTS.exe. The reason I say "freed up," and the reason that people are up in arms, is less about the file itself and more about the fact that Symantec seemed to be deleting all posts from users related to PIFTS.exe.

Re: Conspiracy Theories Abound Over PIFTS.EXE in Norton Security Products
funny.. i was just trying to figure out what that thing was for and doing searches on it
I just had a machine come with norton 2009.... 36 active processes.... removed norton 2009 and volla, down to 21 what in the hell does norton need 15 processes running for? Not to mention about the resources the sucker was using.. It wasn't even the 360 eddition.... just straight up antivirus with security protection..

Re: Conspiracy Theories Abound Over PIFTS.EXE in Norton Security Products
lol. ive had enough, dumping norton & going to avast. buying that pro pkg that comes with 10 license & a vers for win home server. buying 3 yrs ahead to. pretty cost effective that way.
was going to do a clean reinstall anyway, wich works out good as that seems about the only way to get all the norton crap out.

from what i can still gather.... norton 2004/2005 was thier best last copy. (even though i can't stand their products at all period)
And what in the hell is that file also doing on norton products that are now nearly 6+ years old to boot... that file screams some weird things...
