Mac and iPod sales both down 16% in February

Apple is apparently not outside the effects of the economic decline after all. The trend started last holiday season with a deceleration in Mac sales and has now spilled over into January and, according to the latest stats, February as well. It's causing watchers to ponder a question of Apple: How low can you go?

Really is anyone surprised?

People just can't or don't want to afford expensive computers or MP3 players.

Just goes overall in PC/Mac in general. People are only buying needs and less wants.

If you "need" a computer you can get a cheap PC that has decent spes for $400-$500. For 90% of Mac users paying that extra premium to use one of those computers is a want.
