EVGA Reveals X58 Classified / GTX 295 Red Edition
EVGA recently announced the "Ultimate in X58 motherboards." One of the most anticipated products of 2009, the X58 Classified aims to set the standard for enthusiast motherboards by introducing several new features. It is the first board capable of housing 3-way SLI graphics cards, a dedicated PhysX card, and a PCIe 1x sound card at the same time. Also, there are two 8-pin +12V CPU connectors available to provide up to 600 watts of power. When trying to break world records, you'll need the voltage stability the Classified can provide.

Likely the best LG1366 board you can buy but way too expensive for me.

Re: EVGA Reveals X58 Classified / GTX 295 Red Edition
its not so much a need anymore as it is a very nice convenience. for ex - you have a 260gtx. you upgrade to a gtx 285. instead having to sell the 260 or ad it to your goring pile of spares u can use that 260 as the physix card. & your 285 has most of that chore offloaded so its performance is better/more efficient in other areas. this concept work for everything back to 9800 series. pretty cool option imo. not that it matters that much right now
![]() of course you can see the upside to some of the combinations you can do & making a vid card upgade more cost effective/less painful sometimes.

Re: EVGA Reveals X58 Classified / GTX 295 Red Edition
This board is awesome but I was a bit disappointed in regards to the aggressive pricing EVGA puts on there top model products.
I made a thread on the 15th over there on the EVGA forum regarding that and well it turned into a 6 page thread of.. well I'm sure you can probably guess. I'm not one to usually complain but I can't help but to speak my mind every once in a while. Link to Thread |

Re: EVGA Reveals X58 Classified / GTX 295 Red Edition
i knew about this board before it was even announced when it was still NDA.
anyways, the board does have awesome features and all of which are IMO, worthwhile. but i do agree with your |2A|N, it is overpriced. even if it were to compete with the $400 ASUS board, though a bit more competitive in the high end market, it's still something i wouldn't buy for myself unless i had cash just spilling out of my pockets. |
