Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
Apple is joining AT&T in trying to rid itself of iPhone 3G inventory. Starting on Thursday, Apple Stores began selling iPhone 3Gs with no contract for the same $599 (8GB) / $699 (16GB) price as AT&T.

Re: Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
$600 or $700 for a phone that is about to go into obsolesce is hardly a bargain.

Re: Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
The article doesn't say it's a bargain. In fact, it says the opposite. The fact that Apple is doing this, however, just lends further credence to the "new iPhone" rumor (which is still unconfirmed, but largely believed).

Re: Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
I didn't mean it as a confrontation with the article, just as a summary of how I feel about the offer.

Re: Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
Ah, well, I think anyone willing to plunk down that kinda cash because of no contract must not read enough DH to know there's a new phone coming (and must also have a lotta cash and not too much common sense).

Re: Apple Stores Now Offering No-Contract iPhones
slightly off topic, but i'm wondering if apple will offer a "trade-in" sort of deal when the new ones are released.... probably wishful thinking
