Microsoft Hits Apple Where it Hurts

Faster than you can say Red State vs. Blue State, Microsoft's latest ad has set off a class war between Windows and Mac fanboys. If you haven't seen the ad, basically, shopper Lauren tries to find a laptop under $1000 and ends up getting a Windows machine.

I prefer PCs to Apple computers, but, for Microsoft to talk about Apple tax, it's ironic.

Re: Microsoft Hits Apple Where it Hurts

I think this is an outstanding marketing plan.

I guess they are just doing random people and they are asked to look for a laptop within a budget that they set and if they can find it they can keep it.

I also have to strongly agree with Lauren because you can't even touch a laptop from Apple for decent amount under 1,000. Closest you come is a plastic 13" and that screen is way to small IMO and for a good size 15 or larger you have to spend $2,000+.

I agree, a very effective campaign, with some secondary benefit to PC makers who get some incidental advertising.

BTW, has anyone seen any "I'm a Mac" ads lately? They seem to have fallen off the face of the earth.

It actually came out that she's an actress and not a random person in search of a laptop.

Re: Microsoft Hits Apple Where it Hurts

best comment in this article:

"Do you understand what I'm saying? That's right, you should switch to Linux."

That is the truest thing I have heard in years, because I have never seen so many narrow minded computer bigots on both sides of the spectrum.

At the end of the day who really gives a toss what someone else uses? People with too much spare time I think, if people used the actual computers more then they might do something more productive than just rant on forever about how awesome their own purchases are.

Wth is the dumb blond doing , I thought women don't care much about money. they spend 1000's on their make up and the silly stuff actually. Me myself I got used to PC and most games are for PC not for MAC so it is an automatic choice. Some people that use photoshop, graphics software and want a perfect multimedia device prefer MAC . So It is more of interests than money matter.

Well I gave you positive feedback so you will chillaxe a bit. You made a very open minded comment, from what I see, a lot of people on these forums loathe macintosh with a vengence.

I don't own a mac myself but I quite like them, seems that way of thinking is frowned upon
