Spybot Search & Destroy competitors are trying to force its removal

It's hard enough to make a name for yourself as an independent anti-malware company, without competitors demanding your software be uninstalled.

Low blow McAfee and Kaspersky, I would expect better from such companies.

Kind of unhappy with Kaspersky, as they are supposed to be a good selection for Anti-Virus software. McAfee doesn't surprise me, as I have always considered them and Nortan a form of virus (it eats up serious amounts of my system resources, slows down my system, and generally is a pain in my beeeeeeep!!!).

Actually the latest Norton is really really good. Symantec have spent a lot of time on optimizing and in the last half year, they have scored superb in AV-tests, while having a low number of false positives and much surprising, using low system resources and having a fast scanner

I still use Avast though, it's pretty good for a free AV solution. Tried out Smart Security from ESET, but version 4 of it sucked major balls. The whole firewall module in it, was riddled with bugs and I was kicked of the net constantly. And to make things even worse, they knew about the bugs in the beta, but decided to ignore them and wouldn't admit the problem in the final product for months. So clearly a company like ESET can be trusted, shame because NOD32 is a great AV.

I don't have a single McAfee or Kaspersky product installed on any of my machines but Spybot S&D is on all of them .... how ironic
